On Friday 16th November, Sybella, Amanda and Hannah went along to the EcoWise Awards with Mr Whittaker in the hope that we would be winners in our categories.

We nominated Peninsula Primary School for the Puriri Award, which is for the school with the best grounds (we won this award in 2011!)

We also nominated Mr Whittaker for the Rata Award, which is for the school with the best caretaker.

Unfortunately, we did not win this year, we remained as finalists…

We will keep working hard at school next year in hope of winning again!

We received certificates and two native plants for being finalists.

We look forward to planting the plants around our school and seeing them grow.

While we didn’t win this year, we know that we have awesome school grounds at Peninsula Primary and that we have the best caretaker!
