Peninsula Primary
Children Celebrate Diwali
To celebrate Diwali, some of the Peninsula Primary Middle School children walked to Te Atatu Library.
Lynley, the librarian read us the story of Rama and Sita.
Some children held masks to represent the different characters in the story.
Then some of the teachers dressed up in saris.
At the end we all danced to Indian music.
All the children thought this was a great way to celebrate Diwali.
Room 17 also learnt about Diwali. Miss Bina our teacher aide talked to them about the significance of this celebration within her culture.
