Cluster Rugby

The Peninsula rugby team had trained well and hard all term to prepare themselves for the Te Atatu Rugby Cluster held at Neil Ave. With promising players all around the field, there were sparks of brilliance, commitment and determination to go through pool play undefeated.  Led by captain Zacharaiah Tohilima, it was a showdown with Tirimoana in the final, who also went through pool play undefeated.  Therefore, it was bound to be a game full of running, skill and most of all pride. 

Tirimoana had scored two early tries to take the lead; however, the Peninsula team were not going to give up that easy.  Leading from the front saw Coltraine Tahiti score an amazing try to close the gap.  But with time almost up, Tirimoana scored again and the Peninsula team were now playing for pride.  A quick tap of the ball by the Peninsula captain and a cheeky chip over the Tirimoana defence line saw Ryan Sabich in for the try.  Final score, 15-5.    

A gallant effort and a team that can be very proud of their achievement.
