Jungle Bungle Musical Theatre Performance

During Book Week, our whole school had the privilege of watching “Jungle Bungle”.Jungle Bungle was a performance that involved music, singing and dancing. The story followed two students, Claire and Oliver, through an adventure in the jungle.

Oliver had a compass that was different to normal compasses. Instead of showing him directions, it showed him where he wanted to be in his heart. He discovered that he had a good friend in Claire.

Oliver was befriended by Claire when he started at a new school. After school, at Oliver’s house, they went on an adventure into the jungle (which was really Oliver’s backyard), got lost, and met some characters from books who helped them on their way!

They met Huhu from the book “Old Huhu” by Kyle Mewburn,  Piggity Wiggity Jiggity Jig from “Piggity Wiggity Jiggity Jig”  by Dianna Neild  and the “Tin Can Boy” from The Tin Can Band and other poems by Margaret Mahy.

Some people from the audience were lucky enough to get chosen to join in for one song and make music!

Friends: Snake and Lizard” by Joy Cowley and Gavin Bishop helped Claire and Oliver to see that you can be friends with people who are different to you. Oliver was afraid of being different to other people and the main message in the performance was that being unique is good and special.

It was a fantastic performance that everybody really enjoyed.
